things are lookin’ up

February 4, 2010

Just got home from my first physical therapy session, and I feel fantastic! My therapist thinks most of my issues (not just shoulder/arm but many others) stem ultimately from my seriously-substandard posture. (She said it much nicer than that.) Now that I know how to sit and stand properly, I can confidently say that I’ve never in my life stood or sat like that. So, I have exercises for homework, and I’m already much more mindful of what needs changing, and I feel like a new person. Yay!

Had my first session of Knitting 101 this morning. (Here’s what I’ve done so far.) I like it! And I can already envision tantalizing possibilities that are much more difficult to achieve with weaving, beyond knitting my own socks, which was the original impetus for taking the class. (I have big but narrow feet, so women’s size 9-11 socks are too short, but men’s 8-10 socks are too long.)
